The Kookaburra has adapted to civilization quite well, and even loves the camera. These shots were taken with a Canon EOS 3000 film camera with a 300mm telephoto lens and scanned onto my computer.

A real poser for the camera, the Galah doesn't mind the attention but don't get too close. I often see 20 or more of these grazing at the same time.

Ambitious Cormorant

"I've caught it, now what do I do with it?" A good catch for a cormorant, but far too big to swallow. This was taken in Kananook Creek where the water quality has improved greatly.

Australian Crested Pigeon

Sitting on a nearby fence, this Australian Crested Pigeon sat and posed while I took its picture.

Ring Tailed Possum

This little chap was having a drink at my bird bath and I was lucky enough to catch a blind shot of him before he disappeared for the day.

Musk Lorikeet

Normally we only get Rainbow Lorikeets around here, but at this time of year the Musk Lorikeet visits from Tasmania. They are nervous and flighty so I was lucky to get this picture before it took off.

Point Nepean

Looking back from Point Nepean to Cheviot beach (Bass Strait) and Port Phillip Bay.

Point Nepean from the Port Phillip side, Point Lonsdale in the background.

This Pacific Gull looked extremely proud after dismembering a crab.
