A beautiful winters day in Cranbourne so I decided to have lunch in the Stringybark picnic area of the Cranbourne Botanical Gardens. I was greeted by a Bandicoot looking for scraps and several Superb Fairywrens.
Walking through the reserve I spotted a wallaby, a koala, three echidnas and several bandicoots as well as a swamp rat. The birds were active as if it was spring. Honeyeaters, fan tailed cuckoos, ducks, teals, grebes, shrike-thrush, woodswallows, and wattlebirds were everywhere chattering and enjoying themselves.
