Reef Island

It was getting quite late when I dropped in for a walk to Reef Island in Westernport Bay. The tide was fairly high so access was limited, but there was a vast amount of shorebirds present.

At least 13 White-faced Herons, 40+ Double Banded Plovers, 6 Red-capped Plovers, 30 Masked Lapwings, 10 Ruddy Turnstones, 2 Australian Shelducks, 2 Flame Robins, a pelican, 20 Black Swans, and a solitary Black Shouldered Kite. To complete the outing, there was a beautiful sunset over the bay.
