Wow! That place is going off! The only time I've visited, the lakes were essentially dry. I've not seen cattle egrets in breeding plumage in vic (love shot number 3 in particular) nor seen such great shots of the blue-billed duck. Freckled would be a lifer! Hope things stay put for a bit cos i can't get there for a few weeks! Great shots Wampy & thanks for sharing!
thanks Pete, there is still plenty of water but it is disappearing fast. Hopefully there will still be some for your next visit. Incidentally, Edithvale wetlands and Braeside Park have loads of sandpipers, herons, darters etc. This was also the first time that I have seen the cattle egret in breeding plumage so it was a trip well worth while.
